Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new dental patients?
We are pleased to announce we are accepting new patients at this time.
I’ve put off dental treatments and am now embarrassed about my teeth; will people in your office “judge” me?
We understand that people may feel uncomfortable about seeking help from a dentist for a variety of reasons, including delayed dental care. Please know that we are not here to judge or criticize you. As dental professionals, we are here to help you achieve the best oral health possible and will work with you to address dental issues, whether by providing a deep cleaning, halting gum disease, filling cavities or helping you plan for restorative or specialty care.
I have a lot of anxiety about seeing a dentist. Are you used to working with patients like me?
We work with many patients who are anxious about seeing the dentist. In fact, most people become nervous when they have a dental appointment; having someone closely examine your mouth and teeth can feel somewhat invasive. We have gained a reputation among our patients for making appointments more comfortable by taking the time to discuss what we’re going to do before we’re going to do it. We also carefully monitor and manage any potential pain you may experience during a procedure to reduce stress and improve your experience.
Do you offer emergency after-hours care?
We may see our established patients exclusively for emergency care after hours or on weekends based on dentist and support staff availability. First-time patients, or patients not requiring emergency care, are only seen during regular office hours.
Do you accept insurance through EBMS?
Yes. Haslam Family Dental is a preferred provider for EBMS.
What other types of insurance do you accept?
We accept most dental insurance plans and we are a contracted or preferred provider for the following companies:
- Aetna
- BlueCross/Blue Shield of Montana
- Delta Dental Premier Network
- EBMS
- Tricare Retiree Delta Dental program.
We also have an out-of-network agreement with CIGNA-DNSP (Dental Network Savings Plan) for those whose CIGNA plan is eligible.
Do you file claims with my insurance company or do I pay you upfront and file them myself?
As a courtesy to you as our patient, we file benefit claims with your insurance provider.
Do I make a co-payment at my appointment?
The requirement that you make a co-payment depends on your insurance provider and coverage. You may wish to check with your insurance provider prior to your appointment with us to verify the terms of coverage as well as any co-payment requirement.
Do you accept credit cards?
We do accept payments by credit card both in our office and through our online portal, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
Are other payment options available?
Payment for our services are due at the time they are rendered unless you have insurance or unless payment arrangements have been made. For your convenience, we offer Lending Club and CareCredit as financing options.
